CAPE TOWN: -- Facebook   had a strong presence at AfricaCom 2016 in Cape Town, in line with its commitment to fostering a strong relationship with its connectivity partners and application developers across Africa.

Tanzania external debt increases

By Mnaku Mbani External debt stock reached USD 16,399.8 million at end of September 2016, a decrease of USD 71.4 million from the preceding month. This was mainly due to repayment of maturing instalments of non-concessional loans and private sector loans.

Increased exports narrow current account

By Mnaku Mbani The current account narrowed substantially to a deficit of USD 1,912.0 million compared with a USD 4,910.7 million in the year ending August 2015.  The improvement was mostly driven by increase in exports and fall in imports.

New 4,729 refugees enters in Tanzania

By Mnaku Mbani A total of 4,729 new refugees have entered in Tanzania during   the period from October 31 to November 06, 2016, tThe International Organisation for Immigration (IOM) has reported. Among of the refugees entered 2,360 were males and 2,369 females. They composed of 4,527 Burundians and 202 Congolese.
