Domestic investors make a comeback at DSE

Domestic investors made
a comeback this week at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) after disappearing
from the market since the end of last year.The market report has
shown that since the start of this week, number of domestic investors has
growth fast, which indicate an increased investors’ appetite for equities.
The DSE reports for
three days of the week show that the participation of domestic investors has
increased to an average rate of 90 per cent, in terms of turnover, buying and
selling of shares.
The market reports have
shown that out of Tsh170 million revenue recorded over the last three days,
foreign investors participated by Tsh10.98 million, which is less than ten per
cent.
During the first day of
the week, a total turnover of Tsh115 million were recorded and foreign
investors did not participate in both selling and buying sides.
On Tuesday this week, a
total of Tsh54 million were recorded whereby foreign investors participated by
25 per cent of the buying side. There were no shares sold by foreign investors.
The reports show that
during the first three days of the week, all shares sold were from domestic
investors, while the majority of buyers were local investors too.
