Two years treasury bonds oversubscribed

The two years Treasury bond floated by Bank of Tanzania yesterday was oversubscribed by Tsh80 billion which indicates an increased liquidity in the market.The Bank of Tanzania auction results shows that a total of Tsh209.2 billion were tendered against Tsh128.5 billion offered.

However, the bank decided to take all the tendered money as at the end of the session, almost all amount were successful. This indicates an increased government appetite for cash.
The results also indicate that a total of 150 bids were received and all were successful. The highest bid was 85.7050/100 while the lowest bid was 74.7400/100 of which all were successful.

The Bank of Tanzania Economic Operations and annual report for the year ended in June 2015 published mid this month this development was attributed to a decrease in both exports and imports.
